Red Lentil Curry Soup Recipe

The red lentil curry soup recipe is very simple and gets ready in no time you can say less than 10 minutes.If lentils are soaked in warm water before cooking,it even reduces the cooking time.We can keep the recipe very simple and add spices on hand, again it has no any fix recipe and there is always room for you creativity with the food you cook. The ingredients I used for this recipe are

Red lentils 1 cup
Ginger Paste 1 tbs
Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
Chili flakes 1 tbs
Dried-Parsley 1/4 tsp
Tomatoes 1 cup
Onion 1 medium sized
Salt to taste
Cooking oil 2 tbs

Directions:
Add 2 tbs of cooking oil into a warm pan and fry the onions till they are golden brown.Saute’ ginger garlic paste for a minute then add the remaining ingredients except the lentils.
Cook the mixture till oil starts to separate from the mixture.At this point add the lentils and pour a cup of water, mixed it well.Let it cook with lid on for 5 minutes.These particular lentils cook so quick that I have given it name “emergency lentils” ,it cooks in no time.No pre boiling and but mix up with spices and simmer it for some time and yummy lentils gets ready to dish out.Adding chopped green chili and fresh parsley always adds to flavor of lentil curry/curry soup but it is totally optional.

Serving:

For diet conscious people,a bowl of this soup is a whole meal and don’t use any kind of bread with it.In Pakistan we generally eat red lentil curry with white rice or chapati/Nan. We love to have some kind of pickle  with it or finely chopped onion,green chili and tomato salad.
